This is a work in progress inspired by the oil lantern tutorial on Substance Academy.

Western style cabin porch -WIP
I was feeling my skills with Substance Painter were not up to scratch so I decided to go back to basics and follow the the oil lantern tutorial on Substance Academy. After completing this I thought it would be fun the build a small environment to place it in.
I didn't want to build a full cabin as it would require a few too many props so decided to focus on just the porch area. I would be using UE4 for this so I started with making use of the Brushify Environment Shader by Joe Garth and also adjusted the lighting with the help of an exponential height fog.
I also made some props in Maya and started to populate the area with them based on some reference images I collected. I will continue to work on and add more. The current trees in the background are from a free library by Lluis Garcia. At the minute the textures on the porch and chimney stack are from Quixel Megascans.
I arranged the UV's of the various pieces of cabin wood to reduce the amount of materials I am using.
I intend to put together a trim sheet for the the smaller props like barrels, buckets, etc.
Here i added a simple decal to give the impression of wear on the wooden floor.
