Hi! My name is Allan De Paepe and I am 20 years old. I will graduate very soon which means I will be looking for a job in the near future.
I would love to share my projects with all of you. My main focus lies on creating assets and environments, this is because I want to make people feel immersed in the digital game world.
// GRADUATION WORK - PHYSICAL CHANGES OF MATERIALS INSIDE UNREAL ENGINE
For my individual graduation work, I decided to research something a bit more technical but still environment related. The research is about the physical changes of materials with a focus on puddles and how to visualize this in a game engine such as Unreal Engine 4.
The project shows the effects of different temperatures on puddles and the environment. Cold weather will freeze the water and snow will come falling down. Once the temperature rises the puddles start to melt and eventually evaporate. I also added a 'rain phase', this will make sure the puddle are recreated once they are evaporated.
The cycle is fully automatic but you can also control in manually.

REWIRED is a game that tells the story of a discarded robot that develops a consciousness. He is trying to escape the big factory in which he is dropped and will try to help other robots along the way. The factory is full of dangers so you will have to be careful! This project was made with the goal to create an experience rather than a game, we were heavily inspired by INSIDE from Playdead.
