Round of applause for our sponsors

As this was one of my very first 3D projects, I didn't yet know how to connect textures to my shaders at the time. So I started by modeling with Maya, setting the basic shaders with Renderman, and finishing the textures and other details on Clip Studio Paint.

- As the main element in my composition, I chose to place Pokémon's emblematic poké ball in the center of the image, accentuating its metallic texture to reinforce the idea that it is in fact a cage.

- The fact that the main subject is under a bell is a reference to the rose under a bell in "Beauty and the Beast", representing the beast's doomed life, unable to escape its fate.

- The fireflies in the background are the "Navi" from the game "Zelda Majora's Mask", representing the different phases of the protagonist's acceptance of death.

- Finally, I opted for a synthetic/industrial backdrop, with tiles and natural materials at the same time, to create a sense of incompatibility. This incompatibility between man and nature is echoed in the Pokémon "Mewtwo", the result of a scientific experiment that burned down a dozen scientists in their laboratory.
