This was a personal project I created and worked on recently. I was able to utilize Unreal Engine 5's new Nanite and Lumen features.

To Live Within Giants (2023):

Unreal Engine 5, Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop

This was a personal project I made to better learn and practice making trim sheets and modular building assets to be used in Unreal Engine's Blueprint editor.  I was also able to try out Unreal Engine 5's new Nanite and Lumen features which were really fun to use, despite some bugs I encountered and fixed.

This environment is centered around a world I thought of where the last of humanity in this city lives within these giant robots, which still generate some power. That power is also distributed to some of the new buildings and restored areas of the city. I wanted to create a scene and world that is depicted not just a post-apocalyptic scenario, but one that acts between that and a fully restored and re-inhabited city. We often only see either end of the spectrum for post-apocalyptic worlds: completely lost and abandoned cities vs thriving restored cities. We rarely see the in-between phase where it's in the early phase of being rebuilt and is inhabited by a small population of people and shows signs that it's far from a big thriving city, but one day could be.

Call Sheets: First two images are created by me, the other two are from Quixel Bridge Megascans. The trees in this scene are also from Unreal's "Open World Asset Pack".
