
Train - Rendering & Compositing Project

For my fifth semester, I completed a rendering and compositing project that spanned 15 weeks. The project involved creating an environment model using Maya, texturing it with Substance Painter, and compositing the final output with DaVinci. I hope you enjoy it.

Work Flow
Week 1 - 2
After confirm the project theme, start to find some references and create the sketch and the rough background story.
Week 3 - 5
Modeling a rough model of the train interior environment. Next, needs to adjust and modify details for the model. At the same time, start to open UV.
Week 6 - 9
Import the model to Substance Painter and start texturing. At the same time, start to rig the character.
Week 10 - 11
Use Maya to create some rain effects. At same the time, use Maya to test out the suitable lighting.
Week 12
Start to anime character walk cycle.
Week 13 - 14
Touch up some details and modify the character animation. At the same time, Use Arnold's renderer to render out the image and use DaVinci Resolve to test comp the 3 different mood color.
Week 15
Last, use Arnold's renderer to render out the complete walk cycle animation and use DaVinci Resolve to comp out the 3 different mood color.
PS: JK supplies the character model, while Zhao Ying is in charge of rigging the character and anime character walk cycle.
