Protective Studio Earmuff for Serving the People

Concept render of a pair of protective earmuffs for use in the studio or accessorizing in your daily routine.

 The idea came from working in the Serving the People studio in New York City and as one could imagine the city noises are incredibly distracting to a productive work environment. The noise cancelling function offers protection for the ear which is imperative when working with machinery inside the studio.

Preview renders of the ideation process. I was experimenting with form and plausible ergonomic designs in and around the ear cushion and head rest. 

I had multiple material palettes in mind from the beginning and had began blocking out the regions where materials would be separate. I ended up going with a classic brushed metal finish, and polycarbonate materials for the cup of the earmuff, and the headband. 

The lightweight design of the headband and the oversized ear cushions allow the earmuffs to comfortably disappear from the wearer while in operation.
