Round of applause for our sponsors

As part of the final project for our Advanced Diploma course, we were allowed to determine the type of project we would undertake along under a set of guidelines. My project is a concept art compilation for a hypothetical video game called the Forlorn Healer, where you play as a young healer who adventures out into a cursed land in order to heal the world.

Character Design

Character design for the main character, Sana Angela. A timid young lady who left her home, believing herself unworthy to bear her family's title as a healer. Now she returns, picking up her healing staff once more, determined to save everyone.

Character design for the various allies Sana will meet on her adventure. Pione, Sana's best friend who grew up to become a practicing herbalist in her home village; Acacia, a brave navigator with no sense of self-preservation; and Banyan, a tough but humble man who manages the flow of transportation and supplies.

Environment Design

Environment design art for a location called the Voracious Reef. Once a humble yet thriving fishing village to the south of the island, it has become abandoned. Its once clear waters have become murky and the coral have withered. Coral-backed monsters and aggressive reef creatures have now taken over the reefs, prowling for food.

Level and UI Design

Level sample featuring Sana standing in the Voracious Reef area.

Left: Sana's health and energy bar. The blue bar is her energy, the red bar is her health. It takes the form of her staff, the channeling point of her healing abilities.

Right: Potion pockets. Sana can carry up to three different potions at a time. Each one has different effects.
