Shed

by oholcombe on 4 Jul 2022

I asked my friend to give me something to build in blender and this was what I was given. I'm still learning the software and I'm trying to improve my skills as a blender user. The featured image is the image I'm using to make my shed.

Update - 4 Jul 2022

Intro

The above image is what I'm trying to replicate. In this post, I will explain what I will do through each step.

The Base Shape

These pictures are the Initial shape of the shed. For the base, I used a cube and resized it and shaped it into this rectangle. I then subdivided the middle and brought the top 2 middle vertices into a triangular shape. For the roof, I then created another cube, giving it the same width and length but making the depth much smaller. I, again, subdivided the cube and brought the middle up; using all 4 parts, not just the top 2. I deleted the 4 right-most vertices, then I added a mirror Modifier. I fit the roof on one side and the other was done through the mirror modifier. I made some little final adjustments to the roof and the shape to suit how I wanted it.

Adding Details

Next, I began by adding details such as the windows, diamond-shaped details, door hinges, and locks. I would make one of each and then duplicate it to the necessary amount. I also made each part into collections.
