TCS Academy FX Skills Test

I am happy to announce  that I have been accepted into Technicolor Creative Studios in the FX program. I've been working on the skills test for one week and this is the result.

POP Attraction

For the first effect I used a popnet, and for the attraction force I added a PopVop node. Inside this node, I made a subtraction between the particles position and the position that I wanted the particles to go. Finally, I used the result of the operation as the velocity value. To make this effect more organic, I created a popreplicate node and I added some noise to this new particles.

Hand particles

For the hand particles effect, I created a group in the character's hand to set the particles emitter and I created the velocity attribute for them. After that, I used a popnetwork to create the simulation and I added a popreplicate to make the effect looked more fluid.

Smoke Simulation

To create the smoke simulation, I used a sphere as emitter and I set up the velocity values that I wanted by using an attribute wrangle. After configuring all the needed parameters I used a dopnetwork to create this smoke simulation.

Pop Advect By Volumes Simulation

Once the smoke simulation was done, I started with the particles simulation and I used the same sphere as emitter. To make the result more realistic, I added some anti aliased noise to the sphere's density. Inside the popnet I used a Pop Advect By Volumes node to make volume's velocity move particles.

Spark Simulation I

To create the first spark simulation I used a half sphere as emitter (with a high value in the Y axis velocity) and I made a simple particles simulation. To make the particles looked like sparks I added a particle trail node.
