This project is a stage design I developed for Shakespeare's play: Othello. It's developed for being used for interactive play. The scenic design and the lightning are an allegory of Othello's broken soul.

Round of applause for our sponsors

The stage design was developed for an interactive play and to obviate the limited scenic space of the theatre, it was designed for. The stalls area is connected by stairs to a triangle-shaped proscenium. The stage is developed on multiple levels to provide more movement to the scene. The only moving element is the giant broken wall on the back that opens during the play starting from the end of the second act. The wall, emphasized by the lightning chances, is an allegory of Othello's broken soul. Also the texture of the entire scene recalls this concept and connects also the scene to the Cyprus sandy environment.

Thanks for watching!
