EXPLANATIONS : DARK AND LIGHT

This subject ios the first one in illustration class of my first year in ESMA. We had to create two faces, one dark, one light only with motives. All made in traditionnal 2D medias.

I chose to show the coldness and the dark side of mechanics gears through a steampunk style. This face is more attributed to a robot. He is looking the spectator straight in the eyes, which brings a repulsive sensation to the one who's looking.

For the light version, I chose to represent the face of a woman, head down. Her hair is braided and her back is covered with feathers. On the contrary with the dark face, the woman is seen from a side view. Her profile is mixed with the leaves around her.
