Creatures Origins

In a post-apocalyptic world where the Gods of the world decided the fate of the world and sent the Four horsemen of the apocalypse, except, the horse were left on earth. The offspring of the original horse of Famine, the foal was birthed from a deer and now roam the earth with the offspring of the other horses from the horsemen. With humans now extinct, the creatures roam freely with little natural hunters due to their protective exoskeleton and lack of meat. The majority of their body is made up of calcium. Being originally from the spirit world, the creatures need little sustenance but grazing in the fields of what used to be Ireland. Their tentacle-like muzzle secretes a certain sweat like substance that is endowed with growing properties as a gift from the gods for abandoning them, healing the world after the apocalypse Waking in the middle afternoon, these animals are mostly nocturnal however have changing cycles depending on the season as they go into hibernation during summer as they’re body replenishes itself like how a snake sheds its skin. Usually these creatures travel in herds of 3-5 with an alpha male. Their small herd size is due to the females only being fertile once every 6 years.
