Steampunk Victorian Repeating Flintlock Pistol - "The Swan" Original Concept

Throwback to my first ever 3d project: A steampunk pistol. It has been a while since I've just sat down and modeled something from scratch and worked all the way to completed project. It feels so easy to get hung up and demotivated I just wanted to set a goal for myself: To complete a fully surfaced prop in a week. It didn't need to be perfect I just needed to get it done in a week. About 2 days in Maya, a day or two in Zbrush, and the rest bouncing in between Substance painter and Maya until I lost a ton of texture work because of Substance was giving me a bunch of issues on my home computer. But I managed to get a bunch of renders out of Substance at least!

Tried to make one side look more organic with curves and more natural features and one side more mechanical and industrial. My goal was to practice both sides of modeling / texturing with hard surface and organic materials and finding a balance in using them. Inspired by repeating flintlock pistols with a steampunk and a sort of modern twist.

Its not perfect but I'm motivated now and excited to start working on more things! Hopefully more soon to come!
