Black Goat - Character Modeling
Here is a Sculpt I made from the beautiful artwork of this artist: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/qA0GPz I tried to stay as close as possible to the original drawing. This is part of my process!
For my first post on The Rookies, I present to you The Black Goat. I created this Sculpt from an artwork made by the talented Galahad. It's been a long time since I saw this artwork on the social medias and I was very inspired by it. So, after many months, I decided to make a 3D Sculpt about it and here it is!
The whole character
And a little close up of the skull !
As you can see above, I present you more details about my work. Let's have some explanations, shall we ?
First of all, I start by looking for references: Anatomy, details about the artwork, 3D references, real life inspirations, etc etc...
And then, it's off to the sculpt! I usually work on Zbrush first for my sculpts. Trying to make good proportions, to look like the model,...
I make the Retopo on Maya, I think it's a very relaxing process (until Maya start to bug) but really difficult when you want a smooth geometry without too many polys.
Next, I work on Substance 3D Painter for the texturing. It's fascinating to see all the textures that can be created with this software. I often have really good surprises.
And last step, I put it all on Maya, create some sweety lights and then click on the Rendering button!
I let you with a Process view in pictures. Hope you'll appreciate my first post!
See you later for more content
