DISCO LANTERN FISH - ROBOT
Disco lantern fish - robot project. Working the emissive materials and animations in
DISCO LANTERN FISH - ROBOT
This project was one of the practices carried out during the higher master's degree in 3D with Maya from Lightbox Academy.
The goal was to model a robot fish on a hard surface. Unlimited polygons.
This is a disco robot lanternfish. With a transport that represents a giant disco ball with suspensions that hold a fish tank. This fish tank is controlled by the fish that is inside it.
In this project I wanted to focus on loop animations and emissive materials to improve this skill.
As you can see in the video. There are 2 types of loops in the project. The loop of the lateral balls, which go around inside the tubes. The water animation loop is about 200 repeated frames.
If you look at emissive materials. We find 7 emissives:
· The brain and the light bulb that comes out of it, are composed of an emissive material that blinks during the animation.
· In looping motion you can see the side balls.
· The eyes also have an emissive material.
· On the fins, I made a progressive emissive material. A gradient from the root of the fins to the tips.
· Regarding the transport of the fish, inside the tank there is a luminous pink ring, also with an emissive material.
· Finally I made a detail in the transport of the fish.
