HyperSpace
A runner game that I made because I was sick of slow and easy runner games.
Update - 7 Nov 2021
Update 2 Video of current build
Update 2 - Version 6.
Hyperspace has had quality of life changes as well as new additions to the game and some tweaks to zones and mechanics.
Added:
+ Background now ChromaShifts instead of just being pink.
+ A slider to decide trail colour.
+ Trails now emit light that complements the colour chosen.
+ Orange zone.
+ Super trippy patterns that move in the background.
Removed:
- Jumping and barriers that required jumping.
- Lots of red blocks that were phased into one another.
- Mach one sound effect because I like my ears not bleeding. (also didn't fit the direction the game has gone in.)
Changed:
Post Processing now has more drastic effects on visual quality.
Music has been changed to something I own.
Volume has been turned down in general.
Jump is now Time Warp.
Death Screen is now quieter with minor changes to positionings of images and size of buttons.
Red zone prefabs now match and are wider.
Yellow zone prefabs are now taller.
Speed lines are more visible (NEED MOOOAR STILL.)
Goals for next update:
Record system
Credits for contributors/testers
Gaining property rights for new background images
Menu re-haul
New zone (possibly rainbow if I can get materials to follow shader properties)
MACH 2 BABY
Update - 7 Sep 2021
HyperSpace is a passion project of mine where I got sick of runner games being too easy and slow.
To fix this I made HyperSpace, a game where the speed is ludicrous.
Here is a walkthrough of the current version including:
Main menu
Gameplay
Death screen
An Easter egg
I am planning on adding more zones to the game as well as a record counter and possibly customisation for the ships.
Stretch goals include the ability to choose custom music from the players computer and a record ghost that shows where you were on your record run.
