Osaka. Dotonbori Promenade
Promenade in Dotonbori, Osaka. Everything, unless the plants, is done by me.
I worked on a big environment inspired on Dotonbori, a place situated in Osaka.
With this project I wanted to challenge myself to make a big project which could combine outside and inside lighting, using lots of emissives to simulate the colourful nightlive in Japan, and try to make every prop as realistic as possible.
I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot of new things while I keep improving my skills.
On this first part I'm going to post some references and the video, as well as the very first Blockout that I did in Maya long ago, which I've changed after some steps further with the goal of making every corner a bit more interesting and not so repetitive.

Surrounding area
As for the surrounding area, I liked this promenade very much, that's why I decided to work from here and build everything on the left side.
Buildings and first blockout in Maya
As for the buildings that would fill the first line of the promenade, I mixed some real bar/restaurants with fictional pubs or corridors.
