This is an evening tea in a mystical spot.
Work performed with Zbrush, Maya, Mari, Substance Painter and V-Ray (from Maya)
I have always loved the round shaped door-windows used in China and also how the churches play with the coloured glass effect therefore I wanted to see them playing in an scene that is used for a character to have a kind of tea combined also with the feeling that brings complementary colours through the glass into the scene.
With this model I wanted to play with PBR materials for the wood, stone and marble and using also Substance Painted for almost all the rest.
I designed in Zbrush and Maya the pendant that it finally included materials from Substance Painter. These materials were exported and added into Maya by using VRay nodes.
Another design done for this piece was the stool where I wanted to use something different based in wood and clothing modules mixed with a final tower of metal a bit used.
The design was created in Zbrush and exported into Maya that also received the materials from Substance. These were configured to appear in VRay likely as they did in Substance.
The below image is the final set ready to place the character where I used 4 lights VRayLightRect, one sphere light to bring some detail in the wall and one VRayLightDome.
Regarding the Arc window, I wanted the marble and the tiles go along the arc, therefore I aligned the UV to get a better result.
All the air was generated by using XGen from Maya (head, eyelashes, eyebrows and facial), even the fibers for the cloth.
