I wanted to create an environment that shows the home of a forger in the woods. I was inspired by my Russian culture and decided to incorporate common ingredients in Russian food like beets and dill.
This past fall, I completed Sean McEwan's CGMA course in Procedural Modeling for Production in Houdini. With the skills I gained throughout the semester, I made a procedural modeling tool to create woven baskets with a variety of patterns! Then, I modeled a home of a forager who uses baskets to collect various vegetables.
Modeled in Maya and Houdini. Potted plants and set extension modeled with PaintEffects. Cloth using nCloth. Textured in Substance Painter. Procedural shading, lighting and rendering in Arnold.
