Round of applause for our sponsors

The main focus of this personal project was to get to grips with Mari's node graph and learn about texturing with a more procedural workflow. I mainly used masks with tileable(ish!) textures and then adjusting and blending them appropriately, I also did a bit of hand painting just to add a few details. I also used Substance Painter to generate a couple of smart masks which I used as a starting point for certain layers, I then painted more detail into the mask in Mari.

This was my first time properly using Mari to texture a whole asset (Substance Painter is usually my go-to), I'm really pleased with how much I learnt during this project. I wanted to pick a very simple model as the modelling/sculpting was not my focus in this project but I feel next time I do a project like this I will try something a bit more complex.

Turntable Pending! (I have been spoilt rendering my last couple of projects in real-time, I forgot how long it takes to render a turntable!)
