Dagger & Sheath
A 3D asset of a 19th Century Philippines, Moro dagger and sheath.
I modelled the items in Maya, took them into ZBrush to carve out the engravings, textured them in Substance Painter and then brought them back into Maya to render with Arnold.
It was a fun challenge to work with so few reference images. I looked at various other similar dagger and sheaths to get a better idea of the shapes and forms used. However, I should have taken better notice of the dimensions given on the artefact as this could have helped make these decisions.
