Update - 6 Feb 2021

Capstone Introduction:

I am in the process of completing my final Capstone project for the University of Texas at Dallas 'Arts and Technology' Program. For this 16 week project, I decided to go back to my roots and create the character that got me interested in the games and animation industry in the first place - Lara Croft.

So far my major struggles are:

1) Achieving the Angelina Jolie/ Lara Croft Likeness while maintaining a more exaggerated style.
2) Getting that Orbital bone area in her face looking good.
3) Creating a strong, yet soft and feminine body and;
4) The hands are killing me haha!

Anticipated software:

1) ZBrush
2) Maya, Arnold, (XGen stretch Goal)
3) Substance Designer and Painter

My Deliverables:

1) A Posed turntable of Lara in her iconic clothing and gear;
2) Close up supporting shots
3) Full body posed shot matching the reference of choice.

Stretch Goals:

The stretch goals are more focused towards future additions to the project as opposed to the final submission.

1) A Posed turntable of Lara in her iconic clothing and gear;
2) Close up supporting shots
3) Full body posed shot matching the reference of choice.

Head Sculpt Progress

First Time Bringing her into Maya.

Some Notes:

The Nose bridge and forehead look off - I'm going to look into pulling that forward. I'll also do a photoshop paint-over to investigate the likeness.

Body Sculpt Progress

First Time Bringing her into Maya. The forearms look a little weird - Maybe too thin?

I did a quick paint-over in photoshop to investigate the forms. Now I just need to implement them.

Week 5 Update

Had some issues with blackouts this week but here's what I managed to get done!
