Kronos - Artemis Character Design
Part 1 of 2! A character redesign done for a uni project
Kronos - Artemis
Earlier this year, I designed this character for my 2020 Rookies entry, however as I kept looking back at the final design, I knew I could do better. I decided to redesign this character and design her brother Apollo in this second attempt at the project, as I had ideas for Apollo and felt his presence in this project would provide the context I felt the first attempt lacked.
These characters would serve as a boss duo the players would battle in the hypothetical game, the players having to battle their way up the AI Greek pantheon after an outside source unleashes a virus only known as Kronos upon the AI systems.
I knew I wanted to keep the original colour scheme of the character as it still had a link to Artemis' original Greek mythology, however I wanted to add more life to the character. I ended up using some reference of Destiny's Exo race, especially in the eyes, to help sell that these characters are still their own beings.
The designs ended up having more armour elements to make the characters feel more battle ready, leaning away from the business executive feel of the original.
Once I knew what design I liked for both characters, I moved onto the final render for each one.

I changed up the look of the weapons, going for two spears instead of one, as I knew I wanted to feature the bow on Apollo as he is more well known for archery than Artemis.
This is the final render for both characters together, as the players would meet them at the same time and fight them at the same time. Overall I am much happier with the designs of these two characters and feel that I have done the concept justice.
