Modern Wall Sconce

This walls sconce splits a balance between geometric, modern, and industrial design elements. The base with the light element was inspired by air intakes from war planes. I accomplished this by using Fusion 360 to design the body and complimenting bars. I used Fusion 360 and Cura to 3-D print the physical model, and Autodesk Rendering for the renders. Although the creation process was very modern, the wall sconce is placed on a relatively simple piece of oak with a clear coat. This juxtaposition was intentional. This contrast is also reflected in the design. The regular, horizontal bars of the body are contrasted with the diagonal adjacent bars to give it visual interest. The geometric pattern is continued in the diagonal marks integrated into the body of the sconce due to the 3-D printing process. This visual interest is further emphasized by the linear grain of the backboard. The cool-toned light of the backlight was intentional to make it look even more modern.
