Lockdown - Allegory

An allegoric 3D Matte Painting of the 'Lockdown'.

Life under the cave:  triumph of imagination and creativity.

What would happen if a creature rich of creativity and imagination found itself confined for months under a cold, desert cave ? Would fear and ice prevail on his desire for life?

An exercize made during covid-19 lockdown to train my self in Look development and Environment composition.

The foreground represents the firts impact with the lockdown: a sort of return to the fears of the cave age, the shipwreck of career aspirations, the bridge of exotic ambitions closed, and the impossibility to discover new places. Still autumn, after winter.

When the book of imagination enters the cave, dreaming seems possible again. A new sunny light hit the frozen rocks, warming a heart. From the book new elements begin to fill an empty cave.

I was looking for some sort of contrast between cold lighting (ice-skin, a dark cave, moonlight) and a shy warm light for the sense of refuge and hope.

Realized with Blender 3D, 3Ds Max, Quixel Mixer and Photoshop.
