Futuristic Ship

Drawing inspiration from the concept art of Jupiter Ascending, modern factories and cathedrals, I designed this sci-fi piece myself. Taking place in the far future, where science and art are one and the same, mankind traverses space on large, opulent carrier ships containing samples of plant and animal life from alien planets. This project was definitely the most challenging because of how abstract designing futuristic environments from the ground up are.

I played around with the scale and placement of many of the props in the scene and I made the floor out of glass so that viewers could get a glimpse of how the environment might be powered. Despite the busyness of the environment, I wanted to guide the viewer’s eye with lighting and reflections.
