Optical Laser

I did this piece at Gnomon school of VFX for my Demoreel with Robby Branham. There are 101 different ways to create a 3D laser blast but I realised I had never done one and decided that there was no better time to try it than while I am still in school.

I ended up approaching the idea with a mix of particles and smoke simulations layered together to achieve the final result.

I am responsible for all aspects except for the Mech concept by Azure Kim.
