I made VS Championship for my third year final semester major assignment for the 2D Bootcamp subject at Flinders University & CDW Studios. Half of the assignment, detailed here, was to design and develop two heavy industrial companies and their respective robotic entrants to the titular tournament - the other half was to develop a fully functional demo of a splitscreen first person shooter in Unreal Engine 4.

Homuzu Heavy Industries and Kholmsgaz Group, and their respective robots, were designed to represent the two most extreme characters in what would eventually be a larger lineup of playable classes - the small, nimble Homuzu robot and Kholmsgaz' much heavier entrant. This design philosophy was also represented in the companies themselves - one slick and high-tech, the other more grounded in it's heavy industrial roots. Further to designing and building the highpoly models of the robots in Zbrush and Maya, I also painted a maintenance scene for each. I wanted these to help convey the design philosophy that I had already explored with the robot designs and the company logos and presentation.

The highpoly robots were sculpted and built primarily in Zbrush, with smaller pieces that required a more traditional 3d production style built in Maya.
