Low Poly Castle
Practicing some newfound skills surrounding Edit Mode on Blender. Inspired by artwork by @alennmore.
This castle is inspired by a piece of work I discovered on @pixego on Instagram. It was created by @alennmore.
Here I'm trying to incorporate some newer techniques that I've been taught through a Blender course I am working through; primarily, more detailed editing using the Edit mode. The main structures weren't too difficult to piece together, however adding in all of the detail took me quite a while, and it still doesn't hold a candle to the original work.
I plan to continue to add some scenery items including the bushes and surrounding boulders before officially calling 'done' on this one, but happy enough with the castle so far.
UPDATE: Added in a flag to the castle as an extra detail from the original work. Added a basic low poly bush and small boulders next to the castle for now, likely to add some more on the right side.
I had a go at creating the large cliffs to the left from the original work but I might need to have a better think of how I will go about doing that.
UPDATE: Added in more scenery details, mainly my attempt at the larger boulders/cliffs in the background. Not very close to the original work here; I ended up just playing around a bit but I think I've got a bit more to learn to create some of the shapes I had in mind.
Also an extra bush and a couple of loose bricks as extra details points. Overall I think I will finish this piece here as I'm running out of things to add based on my current skill set. Nevertheless, I am happy with how this looks, particularly the castle itself.
Thanks for viewing.
