Update - 22 May 2020
Studio Ghibli is a Japan Feature Firms. This design is inspired by the feature of Studio Ghibli which they are reply heavily using traditional animation techniques (hand- drawn). The overall design of the exhibition plays with the metaphor of nostalgia, using nostalgia elements converted to an abstract language of shape and color in the space, stimulating curiosity and transcending the knowledge with a dimension of imagination. The building structure design is influenced by the action of hand-drawn, it cover by an organic shell and apply a cone structure in the building to penetrate nature lighting. The building separate to indoor and outdoor.
In terms of interior space, the circulation is based on the story telling concept which visitors are guided from the starting point and experience the stories through the flow. The structure and circulation is designed in a loop shape where the visitors will take longer time to appreciate and understand the exhibition.
