I realized I wanted to become a 3D Character artist around 2016 after I graduated from my Community College with really not too much of a path and not even a portfolio that can be used in this industry. I have changed that fate. It is a path I want to walk with no regret not doing it later in my life. Every since then, I have been working hard to break into the industry and learning from literally everyone and anyone. I believe learning from multiple sources can offer different viewpoints.
When I was younger I would always have stack of paper and a pencil and just go to town. As I got older I was still working on my own characters thinking I would bring them to life through animation. But I just never knew how to do so. One day I saw an add for Full Sail and I gave them a call one thing led to another and that was the start of my interest in the entertainment industry through character art.
I studied computer systems engineering. In my last year of study, when I was doing my professional internship, I realized that programming codes and codes without a graphical interface was not for me. Ever since I played Uncharted 4 I was amazed by how beautifully real game worlds could be. That then lead me to discover Horizon Zero Dawn, and the list goes on. The common thread between games and architecture was 3D modeling - the one aspect of the course that I genuinely enjoyed.
I first got hooked on CGI as a youngster creating text scene files for POVRay to render on my Dad's PC. I loved it as it combined my passions for technology and creativity. Since then, despite having a career as a software developer, my interest in the field has never gone away. I've continued to study and practice in my own time, building a breadth of knowledge across software packages. In October 2022, I joined Vertex School on their Game Artist program.

I went to a game jam in 2014 that opened my eyes to game development, even if I was terrible :P, but that was an important experience and I loved it!
