Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I've always expressed interest in my ability to craft things. As a child, I would always have a pencil or marker in hand because I loved drawing and coloring. Ironically, it wasn't until middle school that I realized that I could go into a creative career because not most schools/parents know about the 3D or other creative industries. As soon as I learned that I could take 3D animation as a career path, I had a heart and mind set in stone knowing what I've been wanting to do.
As a child, I always had a proficiency in the arts, always drawing, and sculpting objects out of clay or even aluminum foil, then in high school, I was offered more opportunities to make art. Once I graduated I was undecided about a full year in college when my sister brought up the 3D Animation and Game Design program in her university. I was interested and naturally, I knew it was next step to graduate from high school AP art student to something more.
My love for animation first started in 2013 with the airing of RWBY created by Monty Oum! I adored how creative and lovable the characters were, and a new episode was something I looked forward to every week. Apart from RWBY, I've always loved video games and animated shows/movies. Stories and the themes behind them are very important to me. It is my dream to be able to create something that would give others the same inspiration that animated media provides me.
Since I was a little girl, I have the talent and enjoyment of drawing (i know it sounds cheesy lol). But my parents and some of my relatives say they saw me drawing happily almost all the time, like I was in my zone. I started my artistic journey copying the characters of my favorites animated movies or tv series.
I first realized I wanted to work in the entertainment industry during my final days as a senior in high school. My graduating class attended a film festival that my high school hosts every year, and I had made a small 2D animation for a friend's short film. I was originally going to pursue illustration and only made that animation as a way to help my friend, but after seeing my animation play on a movie theater screen, I felt a spark that I had never felt before.
Primarily I started this experience from a young age with an enthusiasm of creativity and art. I chose animation specifically because I though that it is the art form closest to the human experience. I have been inspired and hence made me go to university to study 3d Animation and game design. I was able to take workshops and classes with people from different artistic backgrounds. Since then I have been practicing and hoping to learn more as I emerge myself into the industry.
