Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I have a background in architecture but it was about four years ago at an art and architecture convention in Manchester that I saw a 3D artist sculpt a live torso when something pushed me to take the initiative to move into this world. I've always loved movies and video games, so the first time I finished a model and thought that what I had created could be in one, the feeling was incredible.
I first learned I wanted to work in the industry after spending time making games in scratch and project spark, especially the latter, pouring hours of time into making a world for it. After some time I was recommended to look into it, as it was a job I never even thought existed until then. Since I have been making little projects and studying the subject at university.
I've always been creative, my immediate family are all involved in creating in some way shape or form. When it comes specifically to games art, it's kinda cliché but when I was a kid, I used to watch my dad play World of Warcraft religiously - so much so that I would constantly reference wow terminology to him outside of his game. Being from a lower income background, finding out that you can make a career creating art for video games I was determined to find the way into the industry.
Like many others before me , I first wanted to start making movies from a young age around 8 years old. But throughout the years, my films were missing something until I picked up my first visual effects package and then i was hooked in the world of vfx and learning about vfx, and the film maker in me turning into a visual effects artist.
