Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
It was during the pandemic when I had a lot of free time and was unsure which path in life I should take. I found an interest in designing so I decided to draw traditionally every day for a whole month. That is where my interest in illustrations peaked. Right after I finished my design course in college, I fully decided that one day I want to work in the industry and enrolled in a creative media degree course at my university.
At the young age of 5, I started attending art classes where I learn sketching, drawing, and painting fundamentals. I followed my passion in these areas into high school where I learnt about the entertainment art industry. Since then, I have been passionate about digital art and look to strive for ambitious positions in the future!
I saw my passion when I was 15 years old and since that, I started to learn drawing by myself. After finishing high school I decided to change my hobby into a career. I entered Taylor's University to learn more about art and design. After completing my degree I decided to improve and explore my art skill by myself. I'm insane at how the game designers and animation artists are creating concept arts and illustrations. And that is where I was inspired to become an illustrator or a concept artist.
I've always enjoyed colouring and drawing since I was a kid but I was a science student too until I graduated from secondary school. With the struggle of choosing what field I wanted to study in, I took 'Foundation in Arts' to know what different modules are like. I found myself enjoying the process of design when I took 'Intro to Design in Architecture'. After that, I decided that design in media is the path for me, or really any path that puts me in a creative setting.
Since I was a child, I had always liked to draw and I was pretty good at it. Growing up, I remember that I used to play on consoles such as the GameBoy Advanced, PSP, PS2. The idea of all these fantasy worlds existing in such a small devices, just blew my mind. So as soon as I graduate high school, I looked up for universities, and found out that game art is an actual subject. From that moment, I decided on joining the creative media industry.
Since I was a kid I have been passionate about things that are related to creative media. Every time I came across more amazing works related to illustration and animation, I found my passion for the creative field becomes stronger. Therefore, joining the creative media field has become an ideal choice for me to unleash my passions and work with talented people who shares the same target.
I was in high school when I developed a passion for creative arts. I started learning different software types to express my creativity on my laptop. I always try to find a new way to improve my level of creativity by watching different types of movies and playing different types of games as a reference to broaden my creativity. I am very impressed by the different kinds of works created by creative people in many industries and I highly respect their works which also inspired me to become one.
As a kid, the moment I saw a work of art and said to myself, "I wonder how they created that," I realised I had an insatiable curiosity for all things creative. I wanted to learn more and more and make these things myself. Whether it was writing, drawing, modelling, motion graphics, animation, any kind of creative media, I dabbled in them all, because learning new skills is the most fun thing for me. I kept teaching myself for years to get to where I am today, but I now want to learn even more!
I've started to draw since I started watching cartoons and animation series. Since then I have been attracted to any form of art, whether it is traditional or digital. I first started drawing anime and Disney princess characters and at that time I do it in the traditional way. The first time I draw in digital form, it was hard but as I keep progressed I got used to it. Since then I've been aiming to be a digital artist by practicing drawing digitally.
I started out with an ambitious wish to essentially change the current design of my home country, Malaysia. Throughout my childhood, I've loved the iconic identity and local typography which was uniquely Malaysian. As I slowly grew up, many brands started to lose touch with their unique identity as they try to keep up with international trends. This sparked a fire in me to step out in the industry to seek out originality in designs and leave a mark in the world through design.
