Somewhere in my teenage years!

When i was 17 years old and found out that i want to ''give life'' on my drawings and to make new thinks.

In the middle of my fine arts studies. I rolled out of the university and joined the SAE college to expand my knowledge and my technical skills on 3d art and animation till i graduated on dec. 2019. Since then I worked with some small studios and and offices .

I knew I wanted to work in 3D when I was 12 years old so 10 years ago. I instantly felt in love with the creativity and limitless possibilities. This passion drove me to learn by myself and study at a Game art school.

I first realized that I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry at a very young age. I always wanted to work with computers, and because my father is a sculptor I wanted to imbed the art aspect of the traditional sculpting with the modern and technical aspect of the 3D environment in general.

I started animation about 4 years ago, when I realised I could actually create things out of my own imagination. However for a long time I've been in love with the aesthetics of 2D animation and the creative process.

At the beginning of my A-levels I realized that I loved being creative and creating art. I started just by drawing images in my free time but continued to spend more and more time. So at the end of my A-levels I knew I wanted to study something Art related where I can be creative. That's when I looked into the Games Industry, because I already played games and like them a lot. In my eyes you are also the least restricted in creativity by creating games.

I first completed a Bachelors in Microbiology and Pathology, and once I finished I realised I did not want to pursue a career in the field. 2D drawing had been a huge hobby of mine over the years, and I finally decided I would like to look into how to turn this hobby into my career. Whilst studying at SAE, I acquired an interest in 3D art, particularly in CG Character Art, and will be furthering my specialisation and learning in this area.

When I was 17 I moved out of my hometown in Italy to London without a clue of what the universe had in serve for me. I joined an animation and games college course aiming to learn coding and become a videogame developer. But, the first day of the second trimester, we were introduced to 3ds Max and prop modelling and I remember thinking: "This is amazing, I will do this for the rest of my life". I gave up on programming as a career and that's when I decided to become a CGI Artist.

My name is Mary Brokaki and from a young age I was enchanted by the world of animation.Τhrough my inclination to art and painting I discovered the world of animation.Drawing and Animation are not just a hobby for me but a way of expressing feelings, thoughts and dreams as well as an outlet from reality.Animation was a very early life decision for my professional career.Μore specifically the world of Disney is the biggest source of inspiration for me and for this reason my goal is to work there.

I like exploring and diving into different aspects of 3D Art and keep learning more and developing further my skills. I enjoy creating various characters and creatures, vehicles, props, clothes, but also animating and editing videos.

I realized at an early age that I wanted to work on video games, they have always intrigued me with their interactive nature and design. While getting to know more and more about game development i decided to combine my love for art and technology and want to work in the field.

I have always been passionated about games and art since I was a kid. After touching 3D Art for the first time and realizing that I could do the things I love and make a living with it, I career path was clear for me.

2021 when I travelled to NZ and discovered WETA workshop

Animation student studying 2D VFX animation.

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative industry when I first discovered the intricacies of animation and how they could bring both people and stories to life.

So far I was working at another job but realized few years ago that it's not what I wanted to do till I retire. I was trying to find a career path that I would enjoy to do. I was always interested in drawing and good stories. I researched more about the 3D industry and I decided that it's what I want to learn. I like to create believable characters and environments that tells a story.

I realized I wanted to work in the entertainment industry after I started trying out blender to create interesting motion graphics and designs.

I think probably ever since I was little I was obsessed with animation - anything Disney, Anime, etc. really fascinated me. I pursued a career in Graphic Design and Illustration. I think because I was a bit reluctant and intimidated by the idea of making characters move so lifelike and couldn't fathom how I can even reach that. Whereas, drawing came so naturally to me so I ended up doing illustration and Graphic design. But eventually, I couldn't resist and finally wanted to try animation

I realized I wanted to work with games when I saw the potential they have, anything can be possible in the 3D world.
