Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I have always loved movies and games, but I never really thought about working in that kind of industry, it just seemed unreal and, with me living in Mexico, impossible. When I was in highschool, I loved design and I was jus starting to learn about programming and 3d modeling, so my dad suggested me to study digital animation as a career and so I did. After that, I discovered my love for the VFX industry and knew that I wanted to work in it and that it was not as unrealistic as I thought.
Although I come from a family of doctors, I've always been drawn to the arts, storytelling, and especially drawing. When I was eleven, my parents got me a Shonen Jump magazine, and I remember fondly how awesome it was to convey a story through drawings and pictures. Filling up notebooks with my own comics and creating my own charcters was how I spent my time in middle and highschool. I even began to learn digital animation on MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker, all drawn with my trusty mouse!
I always loved art, animation movies, and all the effects the movies had. But I never knew that there was a whole industry dedicated to it. almost all of my life, the decision was to become and engineer, but never knew the exact field until one day, out of curiosity, the idea of an Engineering in Animation came to my mind (I actually doubted it even existed, and boy was i wrong!) after that day my mind was blown up several times by the things needed, and the tools and the possibilities.
Since I was a child. I always knew I wanted to create games, but didn't know how or in which department. I learnt about 3ds Max in 2016 and started learning it in 2017. I got my first job in the 3D industry in 2018. Afterwards, I worked on my portfolio to land some Freelance contracts before starting my in-studio journey in 2021 at Big Bad Wolf studio.
When I was 16, I first started to go around youtube to watch how some of the films where made. I saw a tutorial on how to make a simple superman fly jump, worked on it in After Effects 2014 and I completed the tutorial, the result was the same as the tutorial and I that moment I realized I wanted to work on movies or any kind of digital entertainment. I then learned 3D and have been learning a lot in school but mostly by myself. Creating digital art is my passion.
Art has always been the core for me, being something that has always played a large role in my life. When graduating high school it seemed like a no brainer that the next step was to attend art school and hone skills that I had been developing my whole life. To have the ability to turn my passion into something that would bring me both joy and work in the future is truly amazing.
I play a lot of videogames. Always have. When I was 7 years old, not only did I draw silly monsters and characters, I also enjoyed drawing platforms, mazes and puzzles. For me, everything I drew was meant to be played at some point - explored with a character with a sword in its hand and a lantern in the other. It took me a while, but now that I have finished high school I'm determined to do good on my promises and learn all there is to know about bringing those drawings to life.
