Round of applause for our sponsors

When I was a teenager, I had a love for 2D Animation, in the style of 90's Dreamworks films. I wanted to become an animator or illustrator initially, and applied to a private school - Ringling - to do so. I was denied the animation platform, but I was offered a place in their Game Development program instead. Even though I ultimately did not attend Ringling, this was the beginning of my journey in gamedev, and 3D modeling.

I've grown up playing all sorts of games ever since I could remember. To be apart of the gaming industry was a dream to me. Now I am pursuing my dream which is slowly becoming reality.

I started out in traditional arts with sculpture and ceramics, then took a studio course on digital arts that was catch-all and ended up introducing me to Maya. From there I got into digital sculpting and realized I could apply it to video games and real time art.

I first realized that I wanted to work in the video game industry when I realized that games have the power to provide people an experience that provides agency and immersion. Further, games can educate people in a fun and engaging way. These reasons propelled me to want to become a game designer, so that I too, can create engaging experiences for players.

I was playing twilight princess on the nintendo wii, and I was using a glitch to get infinite bomb arrows. The logic of how the trick worked was pretty neat, and that got me interested in programming and game dev.

After getting my first master in Physics, I realized I wanted to do a tech start up and gaming fills that niche. I am a creative person so gaming was a natural fit.

I've always loved animation and games. Animation and games were a very big part of my child hood and is still very important in my life today as I am currently working on a game.

Growing up I feel like I was always told that going into this industry wouldn't be a good idea for me despite it being my biggest passion. My wife, who is also in this industry, inspired me to change careers and pursue this incredible industry. I'm incredibly happy now, and I'm excited to continue learning more.
