I always liked playing videogames, growing up; my favorites being for the N64. After graduating high-school, I thought of looking for a 'grown up' job, thinking that playing videogames for the rest of my life would be childish, and that maybe, I should find an adult job. After exhaustively finding nothing that interested me, I came to the conclusion, ' I might as well go to school for what I love- playing videogames and drawing'. The creativity of developing 3D has not disappointed.

I started to work in this industry since I was 8 watching visual effects in Jurassic park. I personally like drawing and painting , and in year 2013 I had a chance to do an internship with Walt Disney World Resort, and that completely triggered my passion to come to this industry.

Growing up I got to see the rise of video games and massive expansion of technology. I loved everything about it. In high school I had a talent for wood working later combining that with my love for technology and bringing me to become a Junior Prop & Environment Artist.

When I was young, probably too young to be playing Halo combat evolved. I thought it was so cool, and I just knew, I had to find a way to bring some of my ideas to life.

I knew I wanted to work in this industry when I was just in high school. My school had just introduced a digital media course. When I heard about it I signed up right away. I got to dabble a little in different genres and learn different things. Unfortunately, towards the end of the school year my school decided it was only going to be a course for incoming freshman. So everyone sophomore and over were booted out of the program. However that didn’t stop my passion for it.

I always liked playing video games, and thought it would be really cool to make them. I grew up with PS2 games captivating my imagination. I find it awe-inspiring with unlimited potential to create such worlds. So many creative video games have come out, yet there are still so many more possibilities to be tapped into.

I knew I wanted to work in the 3D / VFX side of film-making since I was a little kid — watching movies like Jurassic Park and Toy Story and eating up behind-the-scenes featurettes wherever I could. I loved learning how these things were made. After Jurassic Park especially, I decided that I would either work as an archeologist or a “special effects artist”. Spoiler Alert: I ultimately went the 3D Artist / VFX route.

I had been playing around with 3d since 2013 but decided in 2018 to enroll in school to further my skill and fully dedicate myself to this field.

I was in middle school reading a book adaptation of Discovery Channel's Dragons, a Fantasy Made Real. At the end of the book, showing VFX breakdowns for how the creatures were made in the documentary. I was intrigued by the process of the creation that from then on, I've decided that I want a career creating like what I saw. I'd take digital media classes in high school eventually how to model and animate. After high school, I'd push my knowledge of the industry in college. I'm now a sophomore.

I realized I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry after watching a 15-minute documentary on the Doom series called Doom Nation. I loved the style and the way they evolved from the first doom leading up to doom 3, the game had a creepy atmosphere with great lighting to blend in with the mood of the game and the level design was done well.
