Round of applause for our sponsors

I've been a big nerd and massive fan of games for as long as I can remember. Over the past couple of years I've really started to believe that I have the passion, the aptitude and the ability to actually go out and get my dream job. Some of my favourite gaming experiences have come from wandering through and exploring interesting spaces, and so I decided that a natural avenue to explore for myself was environment art and prop art, with the aim being to create memorable spaces and experiences.

It all started when i was around 13 years old watching 3D animated films and content online and wondering how i could do that as a job. As time passed i started to learn Blender and fell in love with the idea of creating anything you wanted. I then signed up for a course for 2 years in visual effects and media and later went to University to study Visual Effects in more depth.

I realised i wanted to work in creative media during secondary school. I had a tutor pull me aside at lunch when i was a class clown and he told me "I can really see a future where you can succeed at this if you knuckle down" and well... i knuckled down. I've been pursuing it ever since.

I believe it was around 2018, when a friend first showed me Game Maker Studios, and I realised, that my childhood dream of playing games for a living, could still be accomplished, by making games as a job. For my final year in 6th Form College, I recreated Tetris in Unity, and then I enrolled at Confetti to study Games Production. It's gone on from there honestly, watching devlogs on YouTube, talking to other like-minded individuals and just creating more projects and prototypes.

I started my journey in 2016 on a Level 3 Games Art course at Confetti's Institute of Creative Technologies. After taking a gap year I discovered the joy of bringing concepts to life through 3D and have been pursuing Games Production at a Degree level since.

When I was younger, I took a big interest in making something interactive for people, I started this by studying for Media and Film, aiming to one day become a Director to make films. I changed my mind before starting Uni realizing that my real passion is creating interactive experiences for people in games, ever since then I've wanted to create my own beautiful worlds for people to get lost in like I did when I was a child.
