Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I really enjoyed art since I was a kid but I've really commited to it when I started creating illustrations for my own board game about 4 years ago. Back then I didn't know 3D was within my reach so I started to train myself as an illustrator. I started using Blender to improve my illustrations about 2 years ago and from that time I started to learn everything I could about 3D obsessively. Now, I spend entire days modeling and watching tutorials.
I have always been interested in art and technology, from a young age I didn't know if I was going to be an engineer or an artist. I was playing around with 3D animation from the age of 12. When I was 15 I discovered Houdini and instantly decided I wanted to work as an effects artist. Ever since I have been teaching myself and have the motivation to do that. I'm now a first-year animation student and I'm finding my way to the industry.
First started wanting to make video games, learned how to code and went to uni for it but decided that modelling and animation was more what i liked about my course than the coding. 10 years later and after finally being able to attend college, learn more about this industry and where it is I want to be .. I am finally on my way to getting the career I want :)
It was a journey itself for me, to realise what I wanted to do, and what I was actually good at, I think i realised what I wanted to do, around the time I was in high school. But I didn't know how and where to start, due to my country's lack (at that time) of opportunities in the Creative media. so I have saved up money and moved to UK to pursue education in 3D Computer Animation.
After one particularly busy shift in hospitality industry. 23:30pm I was waiting for my bus, the moon was bright and the silent chill was going down my spine. It has been 40 minutes, nothing in sight and it felt like the universe itself didn't want me to get home. That's when it happened.. the bright light blinded me! the sound of an engine roared! and I could feel the presence of a mighty beast that will finally get me home, it was my bus. That's when the idea of changing my job happened.
I was working as a Graphic Designer at Ulster University in Northern Ireland for a local videogame, in 2013 - when I had to start learning about 3D modeling and texturing due to lack of people needed for the project I was working on. After a few months I was able to create things I have never imagined! But I was self taught and it wasn't enough so after finishing the project I decided to start proper studying 3D animation in order to pursue this career of 3D modeling and texturing artist.
I have been a huge fan of Sci-Fi, Dystopain as well as Utopian designs since a really young age and I always loved the thought of converting ideas and drawings into three dimensional space. After messing around with Cinema 4D and After Effects in 2018, I realised that this is something I could pursue and possibly make a career out of. Therefore I decided to enroll in a 3D Modelling and Animation course at the City of Glasgow College.
