Round of applause for our sponsors

I have always wanted to work in the creative industry, but took a roundabout way to get there. My desire to become a 3D Animator was re-ignited after seeing Pixar's "Inside Out", and in 2016 I had an opportunity to start attending Animation Mentor and have been moving forward towards working as a 3D Animator ever since.

At the age of 14 (now 28) I experimented with 2D animation and discovered a magical medium that allowed me to tell stories and express myself. In 2017 I discovered Blender 3D software and it reignited my creative spark. The whole 3D pipeline amazed me and after learning modelling, sculpting and some rigging I decided to specialize in animation by studying the fundamentals. To improve and become a professional animator I currently attend the ‘3D Character Animation program' at Animation Mentor.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been fond of storytelling and I longed for a way to tell my stories. Growing up I studied digital arts and I understood how many ways to tell a story there really are, each one with its own features and the ability to convey different feelings through the story. When I start studying animation, I realised that the stories were made up by movement, timing choices, expressions and spacing, and I loved that!

When I was in High school I was messing around with Source film maker and realized I had a lot of fun animating

When I was young, I always had a love for drawing and making art in any way I could. When I was in high school, I really started to question how could I make a living from being creative. It wasn't until I went to the theaters to see How to Train Your Dragon that I realized animation was nothing but art. I dove in head first to see what it takes to make a movie and what roles there are for the artistic people of the world. After that, I was all in.

I loved animation for as long as I remember, be it in games or movies. but never thought it was possible, as I never really got into art at a younger age. The usual: "It's too late, you missed that train". This all changed when stumbling upon a Twitch Stream of someone doing 3D animation live! Turned out he worked at Animation mentor. I was so into his stream that I jumped on the school's website and took the Maya Workshop to try it out right after!

"Toothless&Tobs become the friends who give me my purpose." && "He felt intuitively that if he liked it the rest of the world would like it, too - if only he could find the right way to present it." "Love(Life) is never about possessing, but is to give everything you have to the other one(world) and wish them(the people) forever happiness and sanctuary" - Quasimodo "Every single ideology from The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse."

When I saw Toy Story 1 I realize that this something I want to do. But I should learn this art from professionals so I joined AnimationMentor.com to pursue my dream.

In 9th grade in 2018

I enjoyed watching tv shows as a kid. Seeing the journeys that the characters took and lessons learned really had an affect on me. The stories told through animation are truly remarkable. Realizing that there are an infinite amount of possibilities with animation gave me the push to learn this art form. I can tell stories and create worlds right out of my imagination..

When I realised it was a real, actual possibility - not a fanciful trip to the Moon.

When I was very young I realized I wanted to work in visual affects and animation. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) I wasn't provided with the information I needed to pursue this career, so here I am in my late 20's figuring it out.

1981 during a cartooning class that guided me to take animation class by a retired Disney animator.

I've always had a passion for art. I love to draw, sculpt, write, and create magic like the movies and shows I've fallen in love with like the little mermaid, the nightmare before Christmas, one piece, lord of the rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Supernatural, IT, soul, Luca, and so many more have inspired me for so long, I wanted to be part of the magic but I never had the courage to go for my dream. It wasn't till I sole Frozen 2 in theaters that I gained my courage to finally chase my dreams.

In high school I found out about animation through YouTube, fell in love and decided to become an animator instead of a lawer

Back in 2013 During my first of many playthroughs of The Last of Us, I discovered the power of great storytelling and instantly knew that is what I wanted to do some day.

I’ve always been a fairly creative person. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to make video games. At first I thought I wanted to do computer science, then I took a couple of classes in high school and decided it wasn’t for me. So I looked towards the 3D side of things and absolutely fell in love with animating. I didn’t even realize that could potentially be a career

I started drawing since I was really young, and I just haven't stopped. I love learning new ways to create.

Many years ago...'97 to be exact :)

While watching How to Train Your Dragon, I realized during the scene where Hiccup took Astrid on a flight for the first time that I could very well feel the wind and smell the salt water. At that moment I understood how much of my life had been shaped by animation, so many experiences that I could never have, brought to life via art. That was the very same moment I realized I wanted to give someone that same opportunity.

I was 15 when I realised that I wanted to try and see if I could ever grasp the idea and knowledge of animating. I was so determined to learn that I bought as many books as I could find on the program Maya which lead me into modelling, rigging, lighting and some animation. It was not until 2018 that I decided that instead of just workiny at a job that I am good at (roofing) why not aim for a job that I could also love. I signed up for Animation Mentor and began my journey learning all I could.
