I've wanted to work in the industry ever since watching the special features DVD of Star Wars and realizing "People made this"

I've always loved playing video games at a young age. As I got older, I started getting curious about the process of making video games. As I started doing more research into, I made a decision that this is what I want to do as a career.

I’ve always had a passion for games and art, I made a big decision in June 2016 , that I wanted get into the entertainment industry, so I switched my field from a computer engineer to pursue concept art for entertainment, best decision I ever made, this is something I can do all day , everyday .

I realised I wanted to draw when I watched Star Wars next to my father when I was a little girl, but decided that I wanted to pursue the concept artist carreer when I saw the backstage footage from the Lord of the Rings. I was amazed by all the work done by Weta Workshop, and had no idea that it could be a potential future!

I learned about the entertainment industry a bit late than I wished. I was studying transportation design in university, when I was told in a lecture that the futuristics concepts that I so loved was a tiny and rare part of the transportation designer. I always enjoyed the creative process but I wish I could design more than just ordinary product like I did in school. It was through the works of Daniel Simon (former Volkswagen designer) that I became aware of the entertainment industry.

I love world-building and storytelling.

My passion for story telling started when I was a kid. I started working in the mobile games industry as a Game Artist after graduating from college, and eventually moved onto a Producer role. Although I loved the people that I worked with, the job itself didn't satisfy my craving for creating worlds and characters. I eventually wrapped up my last game and decided to pursue a career in Concept Art, hoping to realize these worlds I have in my mind on the big screen or in games.

The realisation was a process built over time. I loved building new things from various broken toys and spares. Having realised the limitations of the resources around me, I moved to drawing as it allowed me to express my ideas relying only my mind and a simple paper and pen. As I started reading books at the age of 8, it sparked my imagination to create new worlds. At this time it was clear to me that turning my hobby into a career would be something that I would love to do.

I've always loved telling stories and always loved making art. When I found out I can do both while making a living from it, doing concept art was a given.

I was in my final year in my Bachelor's in Fine Arts when I realised that what I really wanted to work towards in life was a career in the entertainment industry. I learnt about what Concept Art is through the internet and overtime build up the confidence and capital to take my first steps towards a formal education by pursuing my studies in Singapore, at FZD

After I joined the work force in a successful career, I realized relegating art to a hobby wasn't enough for me. I'm changing careers and following my passions because I know that is what makes me happy.

I was studying engineering in university but I realised that what I really wanted to do was to create. I left university without finishing my degree and enrolled in FZD School of Design and graduated in January 2021.

I actually come from a very small country. Its so small that knowing my name will find you my house so I just put in United States haha. I never knew because there just wasn't much exposure to this kind of thing, it was just an instinct that there was more to just working and living. I ended up heading to FZD and finding that I absolutely loved concept art. I guess that was the first time I realized I wanted to make more art in this direction.

I found out about concept art a few years ago, and it fit my interests so I began pursuing it.

Even as a primary school kid, I already enjoyed drawing my own levels for the video games I was playing at that time. But only years later, when I watched the Making of Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith, I realized that Concept Art is actually a real job that I could pursue.

Since school days, art direction has been my fascination. Concept art got my interest while pursuing architecture course and thats it!!! I found my calling

When I realised some people's job is to create fantastic environment and dreaming world true video games or movies, they made me dream when I was younger. Now I want to be on the other side and create those dreams for others.

It started with good design. Like hidden gems that only reveal themselves when looked at closely, I started to see clever designs and interesting visuals everywhere on characters, props, toys and etc. Creative media is one of the industries where art is drawn with forethought, purposeness, and of course "coolness" factor and I marvel at the simplicity, detail and creativity of it. This had me taking an interest in this industry and I desire to one day work there someday.

i have always shown more interest in art than in any other subjects when i was still schooling. i thought that i hope to get into something related to art without much thinking. When i first enrolled into Polytechnic in an Animation Course under Digital Media Design, i got into contact with various forms of art like 2d, 3d, concept art, comic art... it piqued my interest and now i am very interested to be a Concept Artist and Character Designer.
