Round of applause for our sponsors

When I enroll in the campus , I am so interested in the game, so I select the major of game design, after that I realized the study the knowledge of courses are not enough, so I study the software of MAYA by myself, and then I start to model when I have free time, even use my model on the group assignment in game development.

I'd always wanted to pursue something creative but it wasn't until I looked into doing a mid-life career change in my early 30s that I found out that working in VFX was even a career option for me. Since then there has been no looking back.

After participating in the courses at the University of South Australia, I really enjoyed the process of learning and making projects, and plan to develop in this direction in the long run.

As a child I always loved to create videos as a means of completing otherwise originally described written assessements. It made the tasks more enjoyable and opened myself to be more creative with my work. This disapated over time however I re-discovered this passion after taking a couple years off to work after I graduated high school in 2016.

Growing up, I've always been fond of the arts and the beauty of the creative industry's work. Watching films such as Avatar and the Stars Wars Trilogies made me wonder how they made these films behind the scenes. That wonder, created that drive to create something out of nothing. To pursue a storyline within media and more.

I wanted to be part of the creative industry for as long as I could remember. I always had a passion for filmmaking and the arts and I've known for a long time I wanted to be part of that world.

Originally aiming to study art for games and having aspirations for a career in concept art, I was introduced to VFX when the course I studied combined the game art and VFX majors. Through my studies I was exposed to a large variety of disciplines within the FX industry and found a love for compositing, texturing and look development. These were also the skills which I focused on and in which I honed my skills.

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative industry during my course in programming. I have always been a creative person since I was younger but didn't take advantage of it. I decided to try Graphic Design and absolutely loved it, then soon after gave Visual Effects a try and loved that too.

After leaving highschool back in 2020

I realised my passion for the creative industries when I developed a deep love for movies, particularly sci-fi and fantasy genres. These films ignited my fascination with storytelling and visual effects. Since my early 20s, I've known that I wanted to pursue a career in the creative industry, with a specific focus on film and television. The power of cinema to transport and captivate audiences has always inspired me, and I am driven to contribute to the magic of storytelling through my work.

It was back in 2019 I wanted to explore the creative arts after brainstorming ideas for a short-film. It was after more ideas kept coming in and realised I need to learn how to make these non-fiction effects come to life.

I wanted to work in an industry that excited me everyday, came with its fair share of challenges and linked me with like-minded individuals. Somewhere i could have fun and use my work to travel the world.

I first realized I wanted to work in creative industries while working in the building and architectural field, I found 3D design and VFX to be most motivating. So, I changed my career path. My background helped me in developing new skills in 3D design and VFX. now I'm practising and educating myself for utilizing my abilities to produce striking visual effects and make imaginative worlds come alive.

long time ago but I so procrastinate to begin. I want to stop myself from procrastinate and really focus in the skillsets I was long want to achieve

I have always been interested in film although I have also been really into art and painting, which visual effects seems to be a happy medium of. I enrolled in a film degree at Unisa although I found the visual effects classes to be my favourite part of the course.

Drawing every single first gen Pokemon from my "Pokedex" Book, so much so I destroyed it and my parents bought me another one. Then in high school I would flip through all the illustrations in the Warhammer and dnd books endlessly staring at the pictures and imagining myself in their worlds.. wishing I had the talent to draw like that. it was later on when I finally thought I could do it and attended school for illustration and animation.

I always loved creating things that make my friends laugh, I love making art and using technology, VFX seemed like a perfect blend of the two.

I've been creating digital art since 2016, and been exploring new and emerging techniques and technologies since!

I grew up in Tanzania where opportunities to watch recent films were few and far between, if not entirely non-extant altogether. One day my mother came home from a business trip with a VHS copy of Independence Day. I knew then that I wanted to do whatever job it was that was responsible for the explosions and alien-ships. That has naturally evolved into a career into CGI/VFX.

My interest began when i was a child when i first started editing my own videos - my interests slowly expanded to include vfx and animation.

Always had a passion in design and through studying a design degree came across some visual effects subjects. Enjoyed those subjects and started to pursue interest with in creative media and the entertainment industry.

Back in 2019 when my friend was doing the degree I am currently doing.
