Round of applause for our sponsors

In the final stages of high school I began to tinker with software such as Photoshop and Autodesk Inventor. I then got into making custom modifications for video games. From this I decided to then look into game development further and sought out a course in working on art for games. I then discovered my passion for making 3D models and environments and wanted to seek out employment doing somthing that I enjoy doing.

I had always been creating art in a traditional art medium from a young age. Film and animation had then also been something i was greatly interested in and creation of this. Once i realized this was something i could study i knew it was what i wanted to do and have loved learning 3D skills ever since.

Watching films and playing games as I grew up, I always knew I wanted to work in the creative industry to some degree but it wasn't until 5 or so years ago that I really decided what I wanted to do. After Monty Oum died in 2015, his work and what he achieved really inspired me to peruse a career in the field of animation which lead me to enrolling at Glasgow Caledonian University and to always keep moving forward.

Since I remember myself I tried to impress on paper every single image around me, a passion that later led me to study Graphic Design. Combined with hardcore professional gaming for years and aiming to evolve professionally, I decided, with a view to combining my career prospects with job satisfaction, to do a Master’s degree in 3D Design for Computer Games in order to expand my horizons and follow my dream to work in AAA games!

I grew up watching fantasy and sci-fi films and reading a lot of fantasy books and always doodling something over any space I could find. My family would always consider art as a nice hobby, not something to be pursued seriously, so I believed for a while that that's how it's supposed to be. My life changed when I watched the Lord of the Rings Appendices, for the first time seeing all the work that goes into making a film and I started to look for ways to become the part of the magic.

I have loved art ever since I was little and always knew that I wanted to make a career out of it. I started out by studying Computer Games 3D Art and Animation at Glasgow Caledonian University. In my 3rd year I was introduced to Nuke and decided to specialise in lighting and compositing as I loved bringing all the elements of a shot together.

When I left highschool in 2013. Wanted to do something in the fantasy genre. Always loved creature design and mythical animals.

Upon leaving school I entered college to study music, this lead me on a path through game design, animation, modelling, vfx and filmmaking over the last few years. I'm currently studying for my master's in 3D design for virtual environment and mulling over the possibility of pursuing a Ph.D afterwards.

I guess my passion for the creative industry first surfaced when I started paying more attention to my sketchbook in high school. But ever since I was a kid, I have always been blown away by animation and storytelling I love the idea of bringing fictional characters, their worlds and physics to life, especially nowadays with recent (and further) technological advancements. I have always been a passionate supporter of the creative field and currently, near graduation, I hope to be a part of it!

The dream from childhood has been Disney, like many other artist's this has been a dream since I was a little boy however I never pursued it and as I grew up I stopped my art all together. That was until my son was born, looking at him for the first time realising I had nothing, thinking how am I going to support this child, and how can I teach him to follow his dreams? I decided to show him that following your dreams is achievable no matter who you are, that was 6 years ago.......

When I was 24. When watching movies and tv shows , I realised I wanted to know how they made them, especially the visual effects.

I am a visual storyteller and I have always been. Ever since I was a little kid I loved drawing, painting, reading, re-watching my favorite films 100 times and consequently creating my own stories. My life has grown around those passions of mine, I constantly explore different mediums and styles and I search for the best way to tell meaningful stories.

I think it all started since childhood when I first took a pencil in my hands. I also liked to design all sorts of buildings and structures. I do not think that this story is unique, but these memories of my childhood evoke very warm feelings.

Ever since i first played games on the xbox 360 i knew that i wanted to be a part of creating the games that i loved to play during my childhood, i was originally leaning towards the programing side but 2 years ago i started to really like just walking around the game levels and exploring the scenes. because of this i realised i really wanted to create these worlds for people to explore.

I have always loved architecture but the idea of both recreating real-life environments and creating new ones digitally always seemed much more fascinating than becoming an architect. I love translating my passion for architecture into 3D art.

It must have been enjoying the very first video game (DMC) and my first favourite animated movie (Toy Story).

At the start, when I first took on my NC course back in 2015, I thought I was would this as a crash course, but then I was learning new things, things that I can enjoy and show people that I created this, and that made me think that if I continue this path, towards my future I’ll know that I would still enjoy something that will make me stick at it.
