Round of applause for our sponsors

I was always facinated by creatures and animals in film. Starting with early 2D Animations like Lady and the Trump or 101 Dalmatians, moving to the Harry Potter and Narnia franchises. My active interest, leading to my decision to work in film was sparked 2010 after watching the first how to train your dragon movie. I loved the way the characters moved and how animators breathed life into them and I absolutly wanted to know how they did it. So I started and never stopped learning.

I'm a CG Generalist with a great interest in lighting and cinematography. I enjoy the process of staging stories, concepts, and content. I'm obsessed with lighting and I love to define the look and feel, the layout, the camera and lighting the most. Besides that, I also like to work with real cameras [motion and photography - sometimes analog] and real light. I love story driven visuals with moody atmosphere and an organic feeling, that's what I aim for.

12 Years when i read the Tomb Raider Comics, started to watch anime and saw what magic VFX can do after reading and watching Harry Potter

After I've seen the American Ghost in the Shell movie I realized how much work goes into concept art and preproduction. That's when it clicked.

When I was 16 and found out about creating 3D assets in school.

It was when I started as a voluntary member at the Planetarium & Volkssternwarte Laupheim e.V. 10 years ago.

I think it was a process - but i was always a creative Person and wanted to do something with Art.

I started doing 3D as a hobby in late 2012, when I was finishing up school. At that time I was doing personal short films

That was in elementary school, where I had to make a movie together with some friends. I loved the teamwork so much that I knew I wanted to do it for the rest of my life.

Playing my Gameboy Advance on endless trips with the family in our car

5 years ago when I was studying Media Technology I become more and more interested in 3D and VFX. So I enrolled at the Filmakademie in Vienna after my Bachelors degree in 2019 and started off learning FX.

When I first watched Disney Pixar's The Blue Umbrella.

After my eduacation as a media designer for digital and print design. I thought, it would be nicer, when the graphics are in motion :)

The first time I came in contact with the CG-World was when I played around with Blender back in high-school. It never stopped since then. After high-school I gained 2 years of practical experience at the animation studio "Woodblock" in Ludwigsburg. I am studying at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg building my knowledge as a Technical Director. Currently I am working at the Blender Institute as a Pipeline TD in my practical year.

I am currently studying Animation at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. I am a generalist with focus on Lookdev, Lighting and Compositing.

After working in architecture for a few years, I realized that this is not the industry I see myself in for the next 40 years. So I decided to start my career from scratch and eventually work in this industry, with which I always spend most of my free time: film.

I have always loved animation and film, especially creatures. My first glimpse of CG was at the age of 15, creating little Minecraft animations in Cinema 4D. It started as a hobby, but soon I wanted more and realised it was my dream job. I really liked that the only limit was your imagination and with enough time and PC power, anything was possible.

Since my very young days (or so I was told) I was never seen going anywhere without a pen and a pad of paper. Growing up I never found anything else that got me as excited and invested as Art & Animation. During a mendatory school internship I worked at a post production company, which pretty much sealed the deal for me. From there on my educational focus was to become a part of the creative industry.

I started out with 3D in 2014 when I started studying Animation & Game at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. During the course I mainly focused on environment art for games but slowly started to become more interested in film (and the mixture of films and games through realtime movies and cinematic games) which is why I decided to continue studying with more focus towards that direction. I am currently enrolled at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg/Animationsinstitut.

I first realized that this is my passion, when I saw the work of other students at University of Media, where I first studied as Artist. I fell in love with these appealing full CG characters and those lovely worlds, you can create just out of your mind.
