Round of applause for our sponsors

2007 watching the first Transformers movie in theatres. Watching Optimus Prime transform on the big screen was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen in animation. From that moment one I knew I wanted a career in 3D art.

I started to have a real interest in entertainment, particularly the game design industry when I was young around, 10 or 12, and even when to design camps.

Deep down I think I realized I wanted in the industry when I watched my Dad play Zelda as a kid, but It solidified in high school in web design class. I had risked my grade to make a text-based video game, and it was worth it.

I realized it was time to make a change when I hit my 30's and dreaded waking up to go to work for a company that treated me like just another number. Like most people who played a excessive amount of video games I began to wonder what it must be like to be a part of that industry. So one day when I hit the wall I decided to take the jump and get a degree that would set me up to make games like the ones I love to play.

I first realized that I wanted to begin my journey in the creative media and entertainment industry in January of 2019. A friend and I were talking about how much we play games, and I asked him, you know instead of playing games all of the time, why don't we try to make one? I had no idea what I was doing then. I literally thought that 3d assets could be made inside of the game engine itself. From that point on I have taught myself how to model and I can't get enough of it.

When I was ten years old, my mom gave me a camera. My mom gave me my first camera from there; I understood the perspective of the viewfinder. Then, after years of pursuing the wrong path in fields such as counseling and teaching, I realized that my passion was being creative and that the support I needed was inside me.

I first realized I wanted to work in the creative industry in Highschool when I took a Digital Media Arts class and loved it.

I knew I wanted to be an animator since I was about 5 or 6 years old. I didn't know about 3D animation yet, but I was a lonely child, and watching Disney renaissance movies really inspired me. I wanted to make creations that could make people feel what I felt while watching them.

My passion for 3D started back in 2007, my sophomore year of high school. Back then Nurb primitives were all the rage and mesh was a whisper in the wind. I had this old hand-me-down computer, the case destroyed from years of use by its previous owner, it was so old I had to take the fans and put them on the outside of the case to blow cool air in. I had just started taking AutoCAD as an elective and wanted to delve into the game industry, but the closest my school offered was this elective.

I have been wanting to work in the gaming industry since I was a junior in high school when an Art Institute of Chicago came in to talk to the Graphic Design students. I graduated in Video Game Design in 2017 but I am terrible at programming and cannot find a job that is willing to take me due to that lack of knowledge. I am currently pursuing a degree in Video Game Art at Full Sail University to try and work on the Art side of Video Games and any other industry using 3D modeling.

As a child, viewing a CG breakdown from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace inspired me to pursue a career in computer graphics. Throughout my early school years I would take in as much as I could on my own.

I have always been a fan of Video Games as they are their own medium to show creativity, storytelling and emotion. I have wanted to work and develop games ever since I was 12, when I played many games like God of War 1-3, Halo, Splinter Cell and even Assassins Creed.

I have wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry since I was a toddler. I enjoyed drawing with my dad and acting out the movements with my family. In particular I would entertain my family every holiday with a little show filled with magic, action and drama. My father was a skilled sketch artist but never pursued it as a career.

I realized I wanted to be a part of this industry after I joined the military as a Photographer. I was exposed to the different software and the process for film and graphic design. I have always had a love for video games and after I got out of the Marine Corps I wanted to continue to pursue my passion and become a part of this world and create everything I could get my hands on.

It first occurred to me that it was even possible to work in this industry in 2019. I am also a gallery shown traditional oil painter.

When I was six years old it just took 41 years to get going on it. As a retired US Air Force and Army Veteran my goal is to develop a better way for therapy in PTSD using 3d Arts and sculpting. Art has helped me immensely. I came back to Fullsail from failing in a blaze of glory from the 3d Animation track. I couldn't grasp the use of Maya for the 3d fundamentals but I have progressed so much in the last 3 years after failing twice.

I realized it in my junior year of high school, when I knew I wanted to use my art skills to make great experiences in the form of video games!

When I was younger, I didn't know that making 3D special effects or games was a 'possible' thing that humans did. The concept was so foreign to me. I'd play all of the special features; looking at all of the behind-the-scenes from animated movies. Later on, I became a bit more serious in my research of becoming a concept artist. Artbooks from companies that made my favorite games and movies, listening and reading about artists within the industry talk about their experiences, the whole sha-bang.

I have always had a passion for visual effects, but the turning point for me was when I was in high school on my computer trying to replicate the things I saw in films from simple YouTube tutorials. At that age, I never realized that there was an industry catered to making and showing off your creativity through your art.

I first realized I wanted to work in creative media as a child but given the disbelief and discouragement I faced from the environment I grew up in, I did not pursue creative fields in high school or in my first Bachelor's degree. It took a final desire after my graduation in 2015 with a degree in History and Classics to realize that I wanted to work in creative media and not another field. Since 2015 I have been working on improving my artistic skills.

Professional Character Modeler, highly experienced in ZBrush, Unreal, Substance Painter, Maya, and Photoshop. Detailed oriented, hardworking, accustomed to performing well under pressure. My journey into the creative industries, particularly in environment art and level design for games, began during my time at DePaul University. There, I majored in Game & Interactive Media Design, focusing on coursework in game development, algorithms, and artificial intelligence. This academic background, paired with my fascination for immersive worlds and interactive experiences, ignited my passion for creating compelling game environments.
