I have always been very creative and interested in art and storytelling, and 3D animation was a huge part of my childhood and inspiration growing up. However I first realised that working with 3D and animation was something you could do as a job when I was around 15 years old and got introduced to Pixar-In-A-Box on Khan Academy, and a year later tried Blender for the first time. Ever since CGI and 3D animation has been what I've wanted to study and work with.

It was a subtle build at a young age, finding an edge and enjoyment from making things on my own. I've won awards and I have been relied on for my artistic knowledge. That's roughly when I decided I wanted to work in visual storytelling.

I first discovered Blender in 2016 whilst trying to add a cool title intro to a video. From there, I quickly got hooked on tutorials and since then I've been obsessed with perfecting my skills in animation and VFX.

I realised quite late that I wanted to work in the creative industry because I was initially going to apply to other universities such as Oxford, Durham and UCL for computer science or philosophy. But a few days before the UCAS deadline I realised that my whole life I had been creatively driven and art was a huge part of me. So with a nudge from my Dad, my extensive watch time of corridor crew and work on the infamous donut project I hit click on my submission to Bournemouth Uni for VFX.

I started with wanting to express my creative side through artistic media, and since I was very much a computer guy I sided towards 3D modelling. I started with Blender as most do and created lots of stylised scenes. I loved this as I could express emotion and create moods within 3D environments. This was a hobby to start but soon after I found out the opportunity to continue this path professionally. I eventually went to University studying VFX and slid into the Compositing department.

In y11 when I took up Photography as an optional subject for GCSE and I realised then that I was interested in visual arts.

I started learning game development as a hobby in high school, while also playing around with 3D software trying to understand how the art pipeline works. As the years advanced, these hobbies turned into my passion, and I started joining local communities, in order to meet and interact with more people in this field. When I discovered Technical Art, I decided to pursue it as a specialization, allowing me to combine both my technical and creative sides.

When I was 16 I started a games design course at a college where I was introduced to 3D modeling in Maya and I fell in love with it.

Since I was a youngster I have always liked to watch films, and play video games, and during secondary school I always had to choose to prioritise academic subjects at the expense of creative subjects, so when choices came about, I loved to choose the more creative subjects to let me show a new side of education and learning, which ultimately lead me to the NCCA at BU, where my passion was created.

After studying fine art and art history, I undertook an MA in 3D computer animation attracted by storytelling and collaborative aspects of the entertainment industry.

When I was 10 years old and discovered how to make stop motion animations with my lego and my dads old camera. Since then thats all I've wanted to do.

I think that the first time I wanted to work in the creative industry was when I was 13 and went to a museum where they had a type of VR game where you could see ancient ruins and their reconstructed versions. It was mesmerizing!

I first realised this after focusing on animation in my final year at Sheffield studying Graphic Design, I soon realised that 3D Computer Animation was the next route I wanted to take so that is when I enrolled to study 3D Computer Animation at the NCCA Bournemouth University.

I have always been interested in working with photography or short clips, I used to capture and edit them in my free time when I was in high school. Then I moved to UK to study Computer Visualisation and Animation there. It literally got me from the very first lesson, when academic showed us previous third years projects and announced the assignment. Since then, I am learning CGi and VFX on my own along with the course. From an interesting subject to me, it developed to full time hobby.

At school I enjoyed all forms of art and technology- I could get lost in my drawings and creations and before I knew it the day was over! I knew then I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry. While studying Design for Film & Television at uni, I realised I most enjoy working on detailed 3-dimensional designs with the computer being my most valued tool. In 2018 I was accepted onto a Masters Course in 3D Computer Animation and have been developing my skills ever since.

I’ve always had a talent for creative arts so naturally gravitated towards it, but the decision became final for me when I was applying to universities and saw the range of Digital media courses offered and all the amazing projects that could come from them.

Nothing ever seemed more exciting to me than the idea of bringing your abstract thoughts to life on a big screen. Since a young age, I have been absorbed in the creative fields, spanning photography, drawing, traditional painting, film, and cinematic music. I have always enjoyed being challenged on a practical and intellectual level, and the field of Visual Effects certainly offers challenges every day. No other industry lets me combine and learn as many subjects at the same time.

I first realised when my mum would tell me stories about her working in the film industry many years ago. She helped write the credits to some films and told me about how much she enjoyed it (but had to stop because she had children). I want to continue her journey in the film industry.

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry when I began working on films and personal projects as a hobby. Then I discovered there were jobs available in this field!

I first realised when I was really young and started designing my own characters and writing my own stories. Been creating stories since i was 6 years old.

I first realised what I wanted to do when I was 12, when I saw the film Avatar, I knew from then I wanted to make high quality 3D content for films and games

The first spark for the creative industry, particularly games, came from when I was much younger, and I played Halo for the first time. I found it all so beautiful and awesome and wanted to create something just as amazing for other people to experience. I have such an intense passion for game development, and believe it is a wonderous art form that I want to share with the world.
