This project is to design a Sea Turtle Information Center that is located at Ice Gallery, Kuala Lumpur for Sea Turtle Research Unit (SEATRU). An Institute of Oceanography and Environment (INOS) Universiti Malaysia Terengganu was established to help the state government of Terengganu to conserve Leatherback turtles at Rantau Abang and now aim to conserve Malaysia’s sea turtles who is one of the most iconic symbols of Malaysia’s natural heritage.

Front View of Free The Circle Sea Turtle Information Center
This is the front view of the information center. The center is surrounded by greenery and its wall is designed with frosted windows that allow an amount of natural lighting to shine through the space.

Reception and Ticketing Area / Registration, Goods and Services
This is the first area that the visitors will interact with by purchasing tickets from the ticketing counter or communicate with staff who is in charge of SEATRU’s programme. This area is connected to the discussion room, office and the exhibition of sea turtle’s mating process.

Baby Sea Turtle's Growing Process and Sea Turtle Information Area / Exhibition
Concept is applied on the display board that and this area’s floor plan which explains all the curve walls and round shapes.

Impact of Polluted Ocean / Exhibition
This area showcases polluted sea from an underwater view. Round bean bags are provided for visitors to sit and look around the LED screen.

Injured Sea Turtle Information / Exhibition
The curve design and striking colours applied on floor design, display stand, pendant structure and wall display are hoped to attract visitor’s attention.

Necropsy Demonstration / Interactive
Wall design and window structure are inspired by the concept which its form has been modified to bring out a wave-alike design that indicates water ripple from section view.

Sea Turtle Adoption Area / Goods and Services, Interactive
The circle concept is used to bring out the meaning of sea turtle’s life cycle’s “beginning” to this space while visitors are donating funds to conserve sea turtles in Malaysia.

Crafting Area / Interactive
Concept and interesting colours are aim to brings out a playful environment and attract the visitors to come forward and join the activity going on in this area.

Merchandise Store / Goods and Services
Concept is applied in this area in the form of display stand which can be seen from the top view and the pendant ceiling design which is visible from the human’s eye view. The curve edge that formed when several circles are arranged side by side is able to bring out a softer mood.

Recycle Area / Interactive, Exhibition
This area is designed to create an interesting and interactive space in order to educate visitors about the right way to recycle by combining the striking colours and interesting circle form.

Café Seating Area (Ground Floor and Mezzanine Floor) / Goods and Services
GF: Concept is applied on flooring, design and fencing design so that the visitors could relate back to the exhibition that they had walked through and discuss with their friends and family.
MF: The concept is applied in this area to linked with the other areas and is applied on the wall design and furniture’s placement. There are three discussion rooms provided in the seating area located at mezzanine floor for bigger group of visitors.
