Jason Ano 3D Generalist
Jason Ano is a Prop & Environmental Artist overdriven to create detailed and attention-seeking 3D models. Constantly finding methods of work that keeps him excited and motivated to persevere through upcoming challenges.
This wooden chest was inspired from of one of the many amazing works done for Mortal Kombat 11 created by Julian Elwood seen below.
First, I start with a very simple block-out focusing on the camera angle and scale to match with the original. Then moving forward on focusing on even and balanced Geometry.
After creating UVs I move into Zbrush for metal edge damage, wood grain, and other imperfections that give it a more real and used feeling.
Inspired by Rock Band 4 and my love for music, I use human reference for scale and start my block out of layout and design. After, I create detailed models to fill the scene.
Using Substance Painter and Adobe Photoshop I create detailed textures. After, I use Arnold and Unreal Engine to set up my lighting and Rendering.
Using Armand Serrano's concept art for reference I start my initial block-outs for scale and perspective
I start with the largest assets and work my way down making sure scale stays correct. After, I use Substance Painter and Unreal Engine 4 for the final textures and render.
