NATURE's AFFECTION

Yoshihiro Narisawa.

“Guests should fall under the spell of the season. They should not only be eating a meal, they should absorb life itself. And there is no feeling that can exist beyond that experience, for one can not perfect that which nature has created.”

"Satoyama"

It is an environment where humans and nature coexist with the forest as well as the seas. The spirit of 'nature' at NARISAWA, humans, and nature coexist and essential in the society of Japanese satoyama. Existing together, which is beneficial to the mind and body ~ It is beneficial for nature.

CONCEPT

Seasons

Unlike Malaysia, Japan has 4 seasons. Within these 4 seasons, japan’s environment can become quite distinct depending on which season it is. Especially the natural side of Japan like trees and flowers. For example, Cherry Blossom can only bloom around Springtime or leaves falling from trees in autumn. These can be applied towards the project to represent the natural effect of japan’s environment.

Flowing

Based on the flow of a river, this represents the natural flow that doesn’t intervene with any obstacle. Like the saying “Go With The Flow”, it will help customers to easily “Flow” through the restaurant without anything blocking their way. It can also be represented with a curvy shape of a river as a design principle.

Landscape

Japan has beautiful mountainous scenery that gives a sense of peace to the living. These landscape features can be applied as a view for the customers to see. It can give them a feeling of being in Japan’s natural beauty.
